A forward-thinking town in Connecticut set out to make a meaningful impact on sustainability and support the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). To achieve this, the town developed an ambitious plan to install EV charging stations at prominent community hubs, including Town Hall, the Community Center, the Community School, and the Public Library. These sites were chosen to ensure convenient access for residents and visitors alike, fostering a greener transportation network.

However, the project faced typical challenges of retrofitting existing infrastructure. These included the need for electrical upgrades to accommodate the chargers, selecting optimal locations to balance accessibility with technical feasibility, and minimizing any construction or approval delays.

Approach and Solution

To bring the town’s vision to life, Titan Energy designed and executed a comprehensive plan that addressed the town’s specific needs and challenges. The process began with a detailed evaluation of potential installation sites, ensuring practicality and maximum community benefit. Titan Energy worked closely with the utility provider to navigate the required electrical upgrades, creating a reliable foundation for the charging infrastructure and allowing for future growth as EV demand increases.

Key components of the project included Titan Energy managing the installation of EV charger hardware, overseeing the utility incentive process, and preparing grant applications to secure additional funding. Titan Energy also implemented and supported the software for the chargers, ensuring the system was fully operation for both the site host and the EV Drivers.

By working together, the town and Titan Energy successfully established a network of EV charging stations, providing residents and visitors with easy access to sustainable transportation options and taking an important step toward achieving the town’s environmental goals.
