Now That’s The Holiday Spirit! Titan Senior Account Executive Gives Back To Children In Need
“Is there a Santa Claus?”
This was the question, penned by a young boy named Tommy a few days before Christmas in 1974, which launched the creation of the Tommy Toy Fund. Now celebrating its 46th season, the long-running charity helps provide holiday gifts to thousands of children in Eastern Connecticut.
To help with the effort, Titan Senior Account Executive Elaine Lind, volunteered alongside members of The United Way of Southeastern Connecticut for the event. Over the course of two days, she assisted in sorting gifts and decorating the hand-out sites so they would be ready for the children.
“Tommy Toy Fund has been one of my favorite volunteer events,” said Elaine. “I have done the registering of families for the past four years since I became a Rotarian and met Mary Jane Burke, who runs the show. It is so amazing to see the number of toys, books and other items that people donate for this cause.”
As in previous years, each child will receive an age-appropriate book, toy and gloves/ mittens. A limited number of bicycles will be raffled (at no cost) to recipients.
