As part of their ongoing partnership with the Ohio Mideastern Regional Educational Service Agency (OME-RESA), Titan Energy identified that Claymont City Schools qualified as an “Energy Community,” securing additional federal tax incentives that helped reduce project costs.

The Titan Energy team conducted a preliminary analysis to illustrate what a solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) could achieve for the district. Their findings led Claymont to pursue a solar project on the cornfield adjacent to the high school. Titan Energy then drafted and managed a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process, maintaining a strong commitment to transparency and value.

The bidding process revealed tight margins among vendors, but Titan Energy's advanced analysis tools helped ensure the right partner stood out. Their proprietary software provided an estimated PPA rate, enabling the district to confidently select the best proposal. Ultimately, TMI Energy Solutions was awarded the project.

The resulting solar array is expected to cover approximately 90% of the district’s electricity usage and is projected to save Claymont City Schools more than $1 million over the next 25 years, translating to over $40,000 in annual savings.
