ANDOVER, Conn. – August 11, 2026 – Andover Elementary School, in partnership with Titan Energy and Greenskies Clean Energy, has recently completed a rooftop solar energy project designed to support the district’s long-term sustainability goals while helping stabilize future energy costs.
The project represents the culmination of years of planning and collaboration between school leadership, community stakeholders, and energy partners focused on creating a more environmentally responsible future for the district and the broader Andover community.
The district expects the project to generate meaningful energy savings while helping stabilize long-term utility costs amid continued increases in operational expenses facing school systems across the country.
The solar installation is part of a broader effort to improve sustainability and efficiency across the district. In addition to the solar project, the Board of Education recently approved additional energy-efficiency improvements through Eversource incentive programs, including LED lighting upgrades and other building-efficiency enhancements.
School leaders also view the project as an opportunity to support future educational programming around sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental responsibility for students and the community.
"I am proud of the new solar project at our school and the efforts of the Andover educational community and partnership with Titan Energy to promote sustainability and energy efficiency,” said Dr. Valerie Bruneau, Superintendent of Schools in Andover, CT. “I hope the town will continue to support these initiatives, creating further opportunities for financial savings and environmental stewardship in our community."
The project was completed through a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) structure with Greenskies Clean Energy, which developed, financed, owns, and maintains the solar energy system. The arrangement allows the district to benefit from renewable energy and long-term electricity savings without upfront capital investment or ownership responsibilities.
“Projects like this demonstrate how schools and communities can take meaningful steps toward long-term sustainability while maintaining focus on financial responsibility,” said Ryan Linares, Head of Real Estate at Greenskies Clean Energy. “Andover Elementary School approached this project with a clear long-term vision, and we’re proud to support the district’s efforts to create lasting value for students, staff, and the broader community.”
Throughout the multi-year process, Titan Energy and Greenskies Clean Energy worked alongside district leadership to navigate incentive opportunities and guide the project from planning through completion.
“This project reflects what’s possible when schools take a proactive, long-term approach to energy management,” said Kyle Ramm, Managing Director at Titan Energy. “By combining solar generation with broader efficiency initiatives, Andover Elementary School is creating a more sustainable and cost-effective future for its students, staff, and community. We’re proud to help support the district’s goals through solutions that deliver both environmental and financial value.”
The district hopes the project will help encourage continued sustainability efforts throughout the Town of Andover and reinforce the role schools can play as community leaders in environmental stewardship.
